Yesterday, I talked about finding your people. It’s a really special process to come to know people who embrace all the weird parts of you and love you even more for it.
I know there are a lot of sayings out there like “people come into your life for a reason or a season.” You know the ones I’m talking about.
I’m not saying that’s wrong, per se. What I’m saying is that it’s more important to hold onto and fight for the people you love.
It’s like me saying “well, you can’t stand mushrooms, even though I always have fun spending time with you and think we get along really well, we can’t be friends.”
Pure craziness is what that is.
I’m talking about showing up when it’s hard, being a friend when it isn’t convenient, and staying until you can’t anymore. It’s fighting distance and making time.
For me, it’s a special relationship with each of my friends, but my favorites have standing calls, shared traditions, and usually lots of food-related conversation.
What’s one thing you can do to not let your people drift away in the chaos of life?
