Don’t bruise your tailbone.
Yep. It feels a lot like common sense, but some of us apparently have to be told. Even when we are told, it apparently doesn’t always stick.
Two Saturdays ago I bruised my tailbone snowboarding. So far, this is what I’ve learned.
1) Ice is your new best friend. Morning, noon, night – just always have ice accessible.
2) Jeans are the worst. I wore leggings for 5 days straight and then had to put jeans on. I almost screamed.
3) Even when you think it’s better, it’s not better. I was virtually pain-free for a day and then bam. Back to not being okay at all.
4) It’s a slow process to heal. Being a figure skater this isn’t the first time I’ve had a run in with a tailbone incident. However, I don’t ever recall it taking this long to heal. Maybe, I’m just getting old? (Don’t answer that.)
